Snowdrops – the humble Galanthus Nivalis (that’s ancient Greek and Latin for milk-white flower of snow) are only tiny, but here at Mapperton we love them because they are one of the first signs of spring!
Join us on Sunday 3rd, 10th and 17th February where we’d love to share them with you. The award-winning gardens at Mapperton Estate will be open for you to discover 11am – 4pm and admission is just £4.50 per adults with under 16’s free.
The Coach House cafe will also be open serving tea, coffee and hot chocolates with a wonderful array of cakes available.
Don’t miss the chance to see the back of winter and we look forward to welcoming you soon.

On Sunday 3rd March, Mapperton House & Gardens opens its doors for the season with half price tickets available for the month of March*, on the gate only (under 5’s go free). Standard opening times of 10am – 5pm, Sunday to Thursday applies.
The House will open for guided tours only starting at 12pm & 1pm, advance booking for house tours is recommended by calling 01308 862645.
*Half price tickets relate to 3rd – 31st March 2019.

Our spring concert takes place on Saturday 6th April at All Saints Church, Mapperton.
The programme consists of:
Sergei Prokofiev: Sonata for Two Violins in C Major, Op. 56
Charlie Piper: Dances and Shrieks of Silver, for Clarinet & Strings
Johannes Brahms: Clarinet Quintet in B minor, Op. 115
The quintet will be violinists Katharine Gowers and Maria Włoszczowska, clarinettist Matthew Hunt, violist Juan-Miguel Hernandez and cellist Bartholomew LaFollette. All are very distinguished musicians with great experience as soloists.
5pm – Mapperton Gardens open to concert-goers for walks and choosing picnic spots,
6pm – Drinks and light refreshments available in or outside the Coach House cafe,
7pm – Concert starts; 10 minute interval.

Join us this April for our large and popular Plant Sale, held within the grounds of Mapperton House & Gardens on Sunday 14th April, 10am-4pm. Admission is just £3 per person, on the gate with under 5’s free. A donation will also be made to Dorset Wildlife Trust.
The award-winning gardens (voted as one of top 50 of the UK) plus the house itself is open for bookable tours, both of which are open to visitors, additional charges apply.
With over 30 specialist stands which includes gifts, garden ironware as well as a massive choice of plants, this popular sale gives a massive choice and is great for plant lovers in the area as well as those who want a ‘Gardeners Day out’ in fantastic surroundings.

The highly acclaimed cellist Guy Johnston returns to play the last three Bach cello suites, numbers 4, 5 and 6. He played the first three suites at Mapperton last year.

Our glorious Manor House has an Italian sunken garden alongside a herbaceous, shaded and kitchen garden over 2 acres. This sale is well established and is now in its 15th year. With over 30 specialist nurseries and plant related stands including gifts and plant supports positioned in the courtyard and side garden this is naturally a very popular sale. Coffee, teas and light refreshments are available from the Coach House Cafe.
