Mapperton Meals Fundraising

During the coronavirus crisis Mapperton Estate is supporting the local community by producing simple homemade meals for isolated people who are unable to prepare or receive fresh food, or who are unable to afford basic food items.

These meals are being prepared by head chef Mark Pile in the Coach House cafe kitchen who is volunteering his time. Mapperton Estate has contributed to the food costs, while members of the Montagu family are helping with packaging, labelling and delivery.  Distribution is being organised by Beaminster Town Council.

The meals include vegetarian and non vegetarian options, to include a main course, fresh vegetables and a pudding. Mark and the team wear gloves during preparation and ensure strict levels of hygiene.

While Mapperton and its staff are giving their time and resources free of charge we are looking to raise additional funds to help pay for ingredients. Each meal costs around £5 including packaging, and we are currently preparing 100 meals a week.

We would therefore be most grateful for any donation to help pay for this service. Thank you!
