Beaver and Lost Village Wild Play Areas

Mapperton Beaver wild play area

We have recently built two natural wild play areas for children.  Both are free for children this year!

The Beaver Play Area is inspired by our two beavers Woody and Twiggy, and provides children up to six years old with hours of creative fun building dams, digging in the sand pit, hiding out in the teepees and swinging from the willow tree.  Opposite the play area is the home of Percy, our giant African tortoise.  Ducks and chickens wander nearby.  There is also a seating area for parents and carers.

Lost Village play area

The Lost Village Play Area is inspired by the many lost villages nearby, including Mythe, Coltleigh and Mapperton itself.  Children aged five to ten will love clambering over tree trunks, role playing among the lost village houses, creating pictures using our nature rubs, hanging out on our tree swings and connecting with nature in our wild woodland.  There is a canopy and seating for parents.

The Beaver Play Area is free at all times, while the Lost Village requires a garden ticket.

Please supervise your children at all times in the play areas.  Thank you!
